As we are on the verge of the announcement of the RTX 4060 cards in just 10 days, reports from VideoCardz have emerged suggesting that NVIDIA is working on a second version of the RTX 4060 cards, specifically the Ti version, which will come with 16GB of memory. This version will have a slightly higher power consumption than the 8GB versions, with a difference of 5W (165W). It seems that there will also be a fourth version of the RTX 4060 series, alongside the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB and RTX 4060 8GB versions, if this information is correct. These four versions are certainly set to be among the best value-for-money graphics cards released this year.
What’s interesting is that VideoCardz claims that the RTX 4060 16GB will feature the AD106-351 GPU, whereas the RTX 4060 8GB version is expected to use the AD106-350. Both versions are likely to have 3072 CUDA cores and a 128-bit memory bus, so the difference between them will be fairly small. The main difference will be the VRAM.
Another interesting point about the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB is that the card will feature a TGP rating of 165W, compared to 160W for the 8GB version.
What’s odd is how NVIDIA will position the RTX 4060 16GB in relation to the other RTX 4060 series models, especially the Ti versions. If the prices are close, people will have to choose between the benefits the RTX 4060 16GB offers in terms of memory and performance, or opt for the more expensive RTX 4060 Ti 16GB, or even the RTX 4070 12GB. So, the price will likely determine which one offers the best value for money
